Chennai Metro

Chennai Metro is the rapid transit system serving Chennai, Tamil Nadu, operated by Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu. It began commercial passenger service on 29 June 2015 and currently runs two fully operational lines, the Blue Line and the Green Line. A Phase 2 expansion (Purple, Yellow, and Red corridors) is under construction, with the first stretch of the Yellow Line (Corridor 4) confirmed to open in 2026.
