Mumbai Metro

Mumbai Metro is a rapid-transit network serving the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, first opened in June 2014 with the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar corridor (Line 1). It is built and operated by multiple agencies -- Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd (Line 1), the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority via MMMOCL (Lines 2A, 2B, 7, 9), and Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (Line 3 Aqua) -- but is treated here as a single commuter network since fares, planning, and future integration are coordinated at the MMRDA/state level. As of mid-2026 the network has six operating corridors plus several confirmed extensions targeted for later in 2026.
