Ahmedabad Metro keeps its rules fairly standard for an Indian metro system, but it's worth knowing the specifics before you show up with a bag GMRC won't let through the scanner.
Luggage limits
Commonly cited figures put the limit at 25 kg and 80 × 50 × 30 cm per bag. What's not allowed on board
- Explosives, arms, and ammunition

- Inflammable materials
- Decomposed or dried blood, or any item GMRC classifies as offensive or dangerous
- Manure of any kind
- Pets Eating, drinking, smoking, and chewing tobacco are all banned on platforms and inside trains.
Riders who travel free or get help
Children under 3 feet (about 90 cm) tall travel free, up to two per accompanying adult. Elevators, ramps, and station staff are available system-wide for elderly or disabled riders, so don't hesitate to ask for assistance at any station.
Bottom line
Travel light, skip anything flammable or sharp, and don't try to bring a pet or a bag of farm produce through the gates. For anything unusual — an oversized suitcase, sports equipment, musical instruments — it's worth a quick check with station staff rather than finding out at the X-ray scanner.
