Gurugram Rapid Metro

Rapid Metro Gurgaon (now often referred to as Gurugram Rapid Metro) is an 11-station, 12.85 km elevated light metro line built and originally financed entirely by private developer Rapid Metro Gurgaon Limited (RMGL), making it the world's first fully privately financed modern light metro. After RMGL's parent IL&FS ran into financial difficulty in 2019, a Punjab and Haryana High Court order led to DMRC taking over operations in 2019; as of September 2025, Haryana's HMRTC board has moved to hand operations jointly to DMRC and the newly formed Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL), with the timeline for full GMRL takeover still unclear.
