Kochi Metro to the Airport: The Aluva Shuttle Bus Route

Kochi Metro doesn't run a train directly into Cochin International Airport (COK), but unlike a lot of Indian metro systems in the same position, there's a real, well-defined way to close that last gap — not just "take a cab."

The route: metro to Aluva, then the KMRL shuttle

Ride the Blue Line to Aluva, the end-of-line station, which sits about 10–12 km from the airport. From there, a dedicated KMRL feeder shuttle bus covers the rest of the way.

Shuttle details

Detail Info
Fare ₹50 per person
Frequency Every 40 minutes
First bus from Aluva 5:40 AM
Last bus from the airport 10:30 PM
This is a genuinely practical option if you're travelling light and want to skip a longer, pricier cab ride from the city center — ride the metro to Aluva, hop the shuttle, and you're at the terminal for a fraction of what a direct taxi would cost.

What's coming

A Phase 3 plan includes a direct metro extension to the airport via NH 544, but it's not built yet — treat it as a future project, not something to plan a trip around today.

Bottom line

Don't assume you need a cab all the way from the city. Ride the Blue Line to Aluva, catch the KMRL shuttle (₹50, every 40 minutes), and budget your timing around the first/last bus times above, especially for early morning or late-night flights.
